Get More UK Gigs as a Professional Wedding Band

Most musicians live for their art, and we can respect that. They didn’t get into the business to negotiate contracts, liaise with venues, or argue over local noise level restrictions. If you’re an artist, you want to be able to perform as often and frequently as possible and get paid for it.

Here at Shindig Collective, we get it. We’ve been part of the local live music industry for over fifteen years, both as performers and agents. We started this business to help talented local bands, musicians, and singers find more paying gigs with less hassle along the way, and we can do the same thing for you.

Common Problems Getting Wedding Gigs

Struggling to Get Gigs

Whether you’re new to the private party entertainment business or an old hand at wedding gigs, it’s not always easy to land work. Where do you find new leads? How do you get exposure to new clients? How should you price your services, and what questions should you be asking your clients when they contact you? These are all problems that can be solved with the right agents on your side.

Agency Fees and Contracts

As musicians ourselves, we know how galling it can be when agencies impose excessive fees for landing you a gig. Some agencies have ridiculously lengthy and detailed Terms and Conditions that they expect you to sign up to. You want to be able to work where you want, when you want, without being tied up in legal jargon and not get paid what you’re worth.

Contracts With Clients

Most musicians just want to get on stage and play, but the money side of things is an important one. What happens if your gig gets cancelled at the last minute or the client changes their plans on the day of the wedding? Will you be expected to take the financial hit? Will the client kick off if their new demands aren’t met? If this sounds familiar to you, you need an agent who’s got your back.

Managing Expectations

Does your client know what to expect from you on the day? Do you know what to expect from them? If the answer to either of those questions is “no”, you could be setting yourself up for a disaster. Both sides need to know what is going on from start to finish on the big day to make sure it goes off without a hitch. Is the set list clear and approved? Are the timings laid out and agreed to? These are all things you need to consider for every gig you take on.

Our Services

What Can Shindig Collective Do For You

We have worked in the industry as both musicians and agents for decades between us, so we have plenty to offer our fellow artists playing across the UK. These are just some of the ways we can help.

Active Marketing and Screening

We don’t just list your name and rates on our website, waiting for someone to make a book. We are constantly shouting about our acts through our social media accounts, at live events, and, of course, at all of the venues that we partner with across the UK. We will help you get the word out there and find soon-to-be married couples who would love your band to play at their wedding. We even screen those initial inquiries, only getting in touch once the client has agreed to the price and is ready to book.

We Make Sure You Get Paid, Well

We are here to handle the business side of your art, making sure all contracts are in place, all terms and conditions are understood and adhered to, and that there are clear payment schedules for our end clients. No more turning up to a gig and wondering if you’re going to be shortchanged or if they’re going to try to pay you in beer. We are musicians ourselves, and we know what it takes to land quality clients for high-end events. You won’t even be expected to leave your house unless the money is in your account.

A Clear Plan for All Events

We work directly with the end client to figure out what they want from the gig and how we get there. We lay out all of the details in advance and get a clear sign-off from the client ahead of time. Using our digital contract system, we make sure that everything is approved and confirmed, from the set list and the timings for the event to addresses and payment details, specialist requirements, and more. This leaves no room for error, a transparent process for all to follow, and a detailed, easy-to-follow plan for the gig.

We’re On Your Side

As musicians ourselves, we know that you got into the industry to play to live audiences, not worry about the admin side of things or interacting with clients. As a Shindig Collective performer, you can leave all of those details to us. We do all of the legwork for you, making sure everything is planned out and in place long before the gig takes place. All you need to do is turn up, follow the plan, and play your heart out.
